Are You a Skeptical Voter?
Regardless of what political party you’re affiliated with, we all want to make smart decisions when it comes to who our elected officials are.
However, doing just that is harder than ever in a world full of manipulative messaging that’s coming at you from all angles. If you're not careful about where and how you consume information, you can easily be swayed to do what’s in someone else’s best interest rather than your own. And while it may not seem like a big deal, this results in more policies that hold you back financially, educationally, and much more.
As a former “manipulated American voter” myself, I’ve personally seen the impact of this and through my own journey to being a common-sense voter, I’m committed to helping others do the same.

How to Be a Common-Sense Voter
Becoming a smart voter not only requires an understanding of how manipulation is taking place but also a process for fighting back. My “Smart Voter System” consists of the following key elements:
I. Identify Manipulation: Understand how to identify when you’re consuming information that is intentionally manipulating your thought process.
C. Consume Conflicting Information: Become comfortable with and empowered by consuming information that conflicts with your current beliefs.
A. Analyze Information: Develop powerful critical thinking skills that allow you to analyze the information you’re consuming from a variety of sources.
N. Now Advocate: Take your common-sense solutions and share them with others to hold main-stream media and elected officials accountable with your wallets and your votes.
Voters that embrace this system will realize that they can gradually shift our political system to one that works for everyday Americans vs. the elite few.

Looking back, I see the shifts in my journey from confused teenager swayed by my left-leaning and politically-biased teachers, to an over-zealous Republican that thought his party could do no wrong and wish I could have a conversation with both younger versions of myself.
I would challenge them to find better sources of information other than those within their immediate circle, and to be wary of accepting anything at face value. I would challenge them to understand that everyone has an agenda and realize that few people in Washington D.C or the media can actually be trusted.
Whether you ready my blog articles for free or order a copy of my book, commit to taking one small step today towards being a common-sense American.
